  1. In today’s society Paula Abdul would most likely be the best comparison for Daisy. Both of these women are very wealthy, whether through success or marriage. They are both waited on hand and foot and have many people who love them. Daisy in this book would seem to be self-centered, self-serving, opinionated and a bit of a train wreck. Paula Abdul on the similar hand is an extreme train wreck. She is publicized, blatant and always being recognized. These two women are very well known, very open to the public and very open to men. Daisy has been engaged in relations with both Tom and Gatsby while Paula Abdul is always dealing with Randy and Simon. Daisy and Paula are very unstable; changing their opinions and making ridiculous decisions in order to get the biggest buck out of events in their life. Both of them are concerned with money, wealth, fame and men.

  2. Daisy is a stereotypical character and could be represented by any rich lady that trades her dignity for a glamorous life style. She would be the wife of a wealthy, influential man with a well-known last name. She knew Tom was cheating on her, yet she stayed with him because he could provide a big house with a nanny to take care of the children. She has everything she wants and needs and in return just has to look the other way when he comes home smelling of perfume. Daisy has been rich her whole life and is used to getting spoiled, that is why she does not care if she gets hurt as long as her lifestyle stays the same.
