  1. The title of this book is appropriate for the story because Gatsby was a great man. Although his life was wasted in trying to reach his unrealistic goal, he was a great man with good values and morals. You could say that he lived a great life, except for his love life. Because he became so obsessed with that woman of his life, he dedicated his life to it. As bad things are happening, like the relationship of Daisy and Tom worsening. The situation gets even worse when Tom's mistress, Myrtle, is killed. Daisy was the one driving, but Great Gatsby was willing to take the blame to protect her. Such a noble action, but he gets no appreciation for it. You can see that people took advantage of his wealth; people came to his parties and had fun. But when it was his funeral, almost no one came.
